Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be Cycling from Lands end to John O'Groats starting from Lands End on 27/4/24. every penny raised will go to the 2 charities (this page & a linked page) & i am self funding the ride.

I will be doing the ride completely unsupported, that means i will have nobody with me, nobody with a car / motor home meeting me anywhere along the route etc. i will be hoping to complete this is about 2 weeks ish'.

I will be hoping to be doing 2 nights camping (yes i will be carrying a tent, sleeping gear & cooking gear) followed by a night in a hostel / B&B or the likes so that i can shower & charge power packs to keep my GPS, Phone & Lights bright!

I will (Phone signal depending) be putting updates on my Facebook page each day so as to show where i am / have been with some pics :-)

I am doing this in aid of 2 charities that are dear to me, this page is for St Luke's Cheshire Hospice who cared for my Mum at the end of her life.

“A heartfelt thank you to Dave for courageously embracing this challenge in support of St Luke’s. Every penny raised by fundraising heroes like Dave contributes directly to patient care. With 85% of our funding sourced from the generous donations of supporters, we are able to provide crucial care to local patients and families when they need it most. These funds play a pivotal role in sustaining vital services such as Counselling, Lymphedema Clinics, Day Hospice, and our Inpatient Unit. Your dedication is truly appreciated – thank you so much and good luck!"

Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness.

We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
