Story
On 12/02/26 we sadly said goodbye to Dave Newman at the age of 77.
Dave was a great character, brother, uncle, great uncle, drinking companion and friend. He will be sorely missed by family and many friends. He was a kind-hearted man who dealt the world with a good sense of humour.
Those who knew Dave would know that he was very keen on trains.
His favourite railway was the Mid Hants line that ran through Alton. On new years day of every year Dave and his good friend Dougie would always make sure they got on the first train of the year.
The Watercress Line was a charity that was close to Dave's heart. It is dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of heritage railways. The trust is there to help preserve these historical assets to ensure that future generations can appreciate and learn from them.
Thanks for taking the time to visit this page in Dave's memory.
