David Wheater is raising money for Shelter

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

A home is a human right. Yet, every day millions of people are being devastated by the housing emergency. Our amazing team of London Marathon runners are joining the fight to defend the right to a safe home. Because home is everything.

Story

After breaking my hip in Feb '23, and having a final op in Nov '24, I feel incredibly lucky to be running the London Marathon on 28th April this year. With the help of friends and colleagues, I'm raising money for Shelter, the housing and homeless charity. We can all agree how much it means to have a warm, dry, safe place to call home. In England, there are currently a record 160,000 homeless children living in temporary accommodation, 200 of whom are in Oxford.

Shelter fights to ensure everyone has a safe and secure place to call home. They provide vital support, legal advice, and advocacy to those struggling with homelessness and unsafe housing. They can only do this with our support, so please sponsor me if you can.

Thank you

Dave
