On 20 March, at the very civilised hour of 9.00pm, I’ll be setting off to walk a full marathon distance through central London… in the dark… by choice.

This will be a major milestone for me. It’s been many years since I last took on a distance challenge of this scale, and to be honest it will also be well past my normal bedtime, so moral support (and caffeine) will be essential.

Streetwise Opera is a wonderful, small but mighty charity that supports people with lived experience of homelessness through the arts. Music is a universal language — it connects people, builds confidence, and opens doors that can otherwise feel firmly closed.
