Story
On 20 March, at the very civilised hour of 9.00pm, I’ll be setting off to walk a full marathon distance through central London… in the dark… by choice.
This will be a major milestone for me. It’s been many years since I last took on a distance challenge of this scale, and to be honest it will also be well past my normal bedtime, so moral support (and caffeine) will be essential.
I’m doing this to raise funds for my chosen charity, Streetwise Opera
👉 https://streetwiseopera.org/
Streetwise Opera is a wonderful, small but mighty charity that supports people with lived experience of homelessness through the arts. Music is a universal language — it connects people, builds confidence, and opens doors that can otherwise feel firmly closed. The charity’s work across London, Manchester and Nottingham genuinely changes lives.
If you’re able to support me, I’d be hugely grateful for any donation, big or small. Please also feel free to share this with your own networks — every bit of support helps (and gives me extra motivation to keep putting one foot in front of the other at midnight).
Donating via JustGiving is quick, simple and secure. Your money goes straight to the charity, your details stay safe, and it’s the most efficient way to support their work.
Thank you so much for your support — and wish me luck staying awake!
