Story
On the evening of Friday 20th March 2026, Streetwise Opera will be taking part in the London Walk, organised by our friends the London Homeless Collective. Streetwise Opera uses opera and singing to empower and inspire people with experience of homelessness in London, Manchester and Nottingham to build skills to take out onto their wider world, gain confidence to make positive changes and reinvent themselves as artists.
The London Walk brings charities working in homelessness in the city together to walk as one, shining a light on those who have walked the city streets at night before. Every step powering the journey towards brighter tomorrows.
There will be three routes available: a 10K, half marathon and marathon through Central London, starting and finishing at The Connection at St Martin's in Trafalgar Square. Walking through the night offers an opportunity to reflect for those who have experienced homelessness. Not just people who are forced to sleep on the streets, but those who walk through the night, travel on night buses or access 24 hour retail sites in order to stay awake and stay safe. In particular young people, trans people and women are all especially vulnerable to violence and exploitation.
Please consider supporting this vital work.
** Check out the playlist we've put together for our walkers. With everything from pop and rock to folk and opera, it's sure to keep everyone's energy up during the London Walk. **
