Story
In June 2026, I will be riding all 21 stages of The Tour 21 on behalf of Cure Leukaemia, alongside a team of dedicated amateur cyclists. Together, we will take on the full Tour de France route — one week ahead of the professionals.
Starting in Barcelona, The Tour 21 will see us tackle all 21 gruelling stages and approximately 3,500km across June and July. It’s one of the toughest endurance events in sport — and we’re doing it to help fund vital clinical trials for blood cancer patients across the globe.
Cycling has always been part of my life, and I’ve long followed the Tour and admired those taking on incredible challenges. However, my journey took an unexpected turn last year when I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia during routine blood tests ahead of a planned hip replacement. This diagnosis was a wake-up call that ignited a deeper passion within me to make a difference.
The delayed hip replacement has since been a success, and I now see The Tour 21 2026 as the perfect opportunity to combine my love for cycling with supporting Cure Leukaemia. This event is not just about personal achievement; it’s about contributing to vital research and treatment development that can change lives. By raising awareness of blood cancer while cycling 3,500kms around France in just 21 days, I hope to inspire others to join this fight.
I am reaching out to you today with an ask: please consider supporting my fundraising efforts for this important cause. Our target is £30,000 to help fund these crucial clinical trials that can provide hope for many facing blood cancer. Your generosity can make a significant impact in advancing research and improving treatment options for patients worldwide.
P.S. All participants fund 100% of the cost of taking part in the event and all donations go to Cure Leukaemia. You are not paying for me to have a jolly around France for 3 weeks!
