As I end the operational part of my career, I would like to take the opportunity to raise funds for 2 charities which during my career either directly or indirectly I have been involved in.

Homelessness is a cause close to my heart since working at Manchester Central allowed me to be able to set up a winter night shelter for the homeless at the station. I learned so much speaking with those who stayed and also working with the many charities and MCC across the city trying to deal with this issue.

The Boaz Trust is a Manchester-based and supports people facing homelessness after claiming asylum. In a fractured world where division and isolationism are increasingly prevalent, this charity supports those in most urgent need, enhancing cohesion and giving people hope.
