Story
I work with dogs every day, so I know how incredible they are — loyal, clever, and full of character. But when trained as guide dogs, they go beyond amazing. They give people with sight loss freedom, confidence, and independence. That’s why I’m running the London Marathon to raise £2,000 for Guide Dogs.
Running has long been a passion of mine, but 26.2 miles will still be a huge challenge. It reminds me of the challenge a puppy faces on its journey to becoming a guide dog. Over two years of training, each pup learns the basics, develops advanced skills, and is finally matched with someone who needs them.
It costs around £56,000 to support one guide dog from birth to retirement. My £2,000 target may sound small in comparison, but it can still make a real difference — from funding a month of advanced training to covering specialist equipment for puppies just starting out.
Guide dogs change lives, giving safety, independence, and companionship every single day. That’s what I’ll be thinking about when I push through every mile in London.
Please support me if you can — every donation helps create more life-changing partnerships.
Thank you,
David 🐾🏃♂️
