Dean, Diane, Annette, Peter, and Callum have bravely decided to swap their sofas for their walking shoes/trainers and take on a Marathon Walk around London, all in aid of the Palace for Life Foundation.

We are looking for your support and kindly ask whether you will sponsor our 26.2 miles endeavour of dodging pigeons, resisting the lure of pub stops, and pretending not to cry as we pass every cafe. Callum swears he’s carbo-loading, not just eating pasta for fun, while Diane’s already purchased blister plasters in bulk. Peter aka Budgie insists he’s “in peak condition”—despite thinking a Fitbit is a type of sandwich and Annette will be singing her way round the route insisting this is a gentle stroll and has downloaded five different walking apps, albeit none of which she can work. We are in no doubt that between us we are likely to have at least one existential crisis by mile 19 and Dean’s idea for a day out might not be such a great idea!

But we are walking for a fantastic cause and the pain will be worth it. Maybe, just maybe, for the promise of a medal, lifelong bragging rights and a good lie-down, we will as a group pass the finish line.
