My aim for this year is a variety of challenges and events to raise £25,000 for the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK. It's the UK's leading IBC charity in support, awareness and funding research for this rare type of breast cancer.

Story

So, this August I’m joining forces with Paul's Titheads to raise £25,000 for the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK by taking part in a 12 hour ‘Sweat Your Tits Off' challenge (who doesn’t love a pun).

The fitness challenge will consist of completing various sessions on the hour, every hour, for 12 hours, Workouts will include Circuits, Tabata, EMOM (every minute on the minute), Deka Style, Erg Endurance, and MGPT HIIT. My dodgy shoulder aches just thinking about it!

Why am I taking part? Well this is a cause that means a great deal to me personally. Back in 2022 one of my best friends, in her early 30’s discovered she had inflammatory Breast Cancer. She didn’t ignore the signs but this form of cancer doesnt typically show any symptoms until it is stage 3 or 4. 3 years later I’m extremely fortunate to say that she has won her battle so now it’s time to step up and help raise some money so more people can beat this cancer.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is different from other breast cancers. Fast-moving and frequently misdiagnosed, IBC leaves little time for intervention. With research funding scarce and public awareness minimal, patients are forced to face these challenges with inadequate support. The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK is the leading charity across the UK that commits its resources solely to raising awareness through educating our medical and government authorities, and providing support for those affected by IBC.

It does sound cliche but every amount raised really does make a big difference and helps research continue. Thanks for taking the time to read and help a fantastic cause.
