Tithead from Wigan £25,000 in 2025 Challenge

My aim for this year is a variety of challenges and events to raise £25,000 for the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK. It's the UK's leading IBC charity in support, awareness and funding research for this rare type of breast cancer.

Story

2025 marks the start of a mission close to Paul Hamilton's heart—one driven by passion, determination, and a deep belief that every effort counts. Paul and his Titheads are setting out on an extraordinary journey to raise £25,000 for The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK. It's a heartfelt battle against a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer that too often goes undetected and underfunded.

Why is Paul and his Titheads doing these mad challenges?

Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is different from other breast cancers. Fast-moving and frequently misdiagnosed, IBC leaves little time for intervention. With research funding scarce and public awareness minimal, patients are forced to face these challenges with inadequate support. The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK is the leading charity across the UK that commits its resources solely to raising awareness through educating our medical and government authorities, and providing support for those affected by IBC.

The urgency of this cause cannot be overstated. For many, an early, accurate diagnosis is the difference between fleeting hope and a lasting future. Every penny donated directly funds research that can improve early detection awareness and drive the national campaign for understanding this rare and aggressive cancer better. Donations also help provide necessary support services to patients and their families, giving them not only hope but also the practical help they desperately need during a challenging time

What challenges are in store for Paul and his Titheads?

The journey isn’t confined to hospital halls or laboratory benches—it’s about meeting challenges head-on. In May Paul and the team will be swapping office chairs for a bike saddle, preparing for a gruelling bike ride from Blackpool FC to Sale Sharks RUFC. Every mile pedalled, every hill conquered, and every drop of sweat spent is a testament the teams passion for fundraising for the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK.

Other challenges planned for later this year include a punishing 24 hour RoxFitness workout and lighting up one of Lancashire’s biggest hills as part of the national Wear it ’Orange’ campaign. Watch this space and our social media for more information about other challenges this year and details about how you can get involved.
