Story
I've been involved with The Hub in several different ways throughout my nearly 20 years in the Bloomington community. I've been a patron, part-time employee, and currently serve as Board Chair. This place is an integral part of our community, and an organization that I'm continuously honored to be a part of.
While the services at The Hub certainly don't stop at offering a low-barrier food pantry to those in need, that's where we currently need the most help.
Since January of this year, MHC has seen a 46% increase in the number of folks accessing our low-barrier, client-choice food pantry. In 2021, MHC served 55,365 patrons; this year, as of the end of September, we have served 62,898. This increased need is coming at a time of decreased funding to support essential services like food banks and food pantries .
Finally, we've had a generous, anonymous donor offer to match all donations to MHC from now through the end of November, up to $10,000. Your donation, and your impact, will automatically be doubled. Help us build a foundation for not only for the upcoming holiday season, but 2023.
