Story
For those who know me will remember I suffered a SCAD in October 2014, on that occasion I was lucky and survived. Many people dont. It has taken time to regain my confidence to be active, I am back, however. So on my 70th birthday 28th April, I shall be completing a triathalon at Phoenix leisure centre, Bradwell. This comprises 3 activities completed back to back. First a 30 length swim (750m), then 20k bike ride, followed by a 5k run. Hopefully all completed within 2 hrs. I will be chased all the way by my goaughter SJ Lumley, an ironwoman and wonderful person. Please support me and help researchers discover what causes SCADs. 🙏
SCAD is a serious heart condition which is striking healthy women and men... people who you probably wouldn't think would be at risk of having a heart attack. When SCAD strikes, it is life-changing for the patient and their loved ones. SCAD can be fatal. It is critical that we find out what causes SCAD.

SCAD survivors are supported by an incredible team of researchers in Leicester at the Glenfield Hospital & NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, led by Dr David Adlam (https://scad.lcbru.le.ac.uk/).
Beat SCAD are working to raise £25,000 to support a new Clinical Research Fellow to work alongside Dr Adlam.
Beat SCAD is a patient-led charity that launched in 2015 to raise awareness of SCAD, support SCAD patients and their families, and raise funds for research to find answers about this condition.
Thank you for your support!
