Dear Family and Friends,

On June 8th, 2025, I'll be joining Dame Laura Lee, CEO of Maggie's Centres and five others on The Maggie's Toubkal Challenge in Morocco - where we'll be summiting Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.

For someone whose main form of exercise has been the occasional dog walk, the past three months of training have really pushed me to my limits. But every step is worth it - because I'm doing this in support of a cause incredibly close to my heart.

Many of you know that my husband Ian, was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and has been receiving treatment at The Royal Marsden hospital in Sutton ever since . At the time, there was no Maggie's Centre on site, and navigating the emotional and practical challenges of cancer was difficult for Ian - and the entire family.

That changed five years ago, when Maggie's at the Royal Marsden opened its doors! It became a much-needed sanctuary - a warm welcoming place where we could sit, read, have a cup of tea, and find a moment of peace amidst the storm of cancer treatment.

Maggie's at The Royal Marsden is one of 24 centres across the UK, each providing free cancer support in a way that feels personal and empowering. Whether it's emotional guidance, practical advice, or simply a quiet place to gather your thoughts, Maggie's helps people take back a sense of control.
