Story
For more than a decade, Diane devoted her time, energy, and heart to Brookgreen Gardens. She wasn’t just a volunteer—she was a nurturer of art, nature, and community.
At Brookgreen, she planted countless flowers, tended delicate seedlings, and watched entire landscapes come to life under her care. But what grew most deeply were the relationships she cultivated. Through her volunteerism, Diane was fortunate enough to meet three women who would become some of her closest friends—bonds as enduring as the live oaks and sculptures that make Brookgreen so special.
Gardening and art were her passion, and Brookgreen was her sanctuary. Every plant she touched reflected her belief that beauty could be grown, tended, and shared. She carried that same spirit into her life, always encouraging others to bloom in their own way.
Now, as we honor her memory, we are raising money for Brookgreen Gardens—so that her legacy of growth, friendship, and artistry can continue. Supporting Brookgreen means supporting the very place where she poured her love and energy for over ten years. It ensures that future visitors will find the same peace, joy, and connection she found among its flowers and sculptures.
Every gift, no matter the size, helps nurture something living—just as she did every day. Together, we can carry her spirit forward, planting seeds that will grow for generations to come.
