In memory of Dieter Klander

It is with great sadness that I am sharing with you that Dieter passed away peacefully on 7th May after a short but brutal battle with cancer and leaves behind myself, who loved him dearly, our two wonderful children, Oliver and Nicola and their respective spouses Donna and Dave, and six wonderful grandchildren. 

Dieter touched the lives of many people across many continents, his wish was that he did not want people to send flowers. He wanted to leave a longer legacy and if you felt you wish to do so, he asked for donations to be directed towards the charity of his choice. Dieter did support many charities but the one that maybe came the top of his choice was The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. This charity was very dear to Dieter and family, because as many of you will know he had a genetic eye disease which ultimately robbed him of his sight.

Guide Dogs is a UK based charity works for a life where people with sight loss are never left out of life, and where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. And providing enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams. Their work is amazing and we've had many communications from numerous people over the years who have thanked us for our support, giving them back an ability to be as independent as possible.

If you wish to donate, myself and our family thank you for your kindness and generosity. It would be marvellous if we could support the lifetime cost of one puppy, and the lifetime cost for this is £55,000, let's see if we can get more than one!
