In November, a group of our friends and family will be taking on HYROX Barcelona to raise money for The McMillan Family Trust, supporting young people aged 11 to 18 across South London.

We’ll be doing it in memory of Terry and Brendan, my dad and brother, who we sadly lost last year. Taking on this challenge together gives us the chance to honour them in a positive way, while raising funds and awareness for a cause that was incredibly important to them.

The McMillan Family Trust was founded by Sheron and Terry McMillan with a simple belief: that a young person’s background should never determine their future. Having experienced the challenges that can come with growing up with limited opportunities, they wanted to create something that could give young people the encouragement, experiences and support they need to fulfil their potential.

Through sport, education, mentoring and positive role models, the Trust aims to open doors for young people who may not always have access to the same opportunities as others.

Every donation raised through our HYROX challenge will go towards helping the Trust build on the work that my Dad started.

When we cross the finish line in Barcelona, it won’t just represent the end of a tough challenge. We’ll be doing it for Terry and Brendan, for the legacy they leave behind, and for the young people we hope that legacy can continue to inspire and support.
