Our Story
The McMillan Family Trust is a UK registered charity founded in 2007 by Terry McMillan and his wife Sheron. Both grew up in London from underprivileged backgrounds, but within encouraging family environments that shaped who they became. It was their belief that all young people have the potential to flourish if given the right grounding in life.
Though Terry and their son Brendan are no longer with us, their vision and values remain at the heart of everything we do, and we are continuing the family's commitment to supporting young people aged 13 to 18 across South London through sport, education, mentoring and positive role models.
We work with young people who face financial, social or circumstantial barriers - providing access to opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. We believe the right opportunity, the right encouragement or the right role model at the right time can change a life's direction.
Why HYROX?
Sport is at the heart of what we do. It builds confidence, discipline, teamwork and resilience — skills that reach far beyond the pitch or the gym. That's why our team of trustees and ambassadors are pushing themselves to the limit at HYROX Barcelona, one of the world's toughest fitness competitions.
What Your Donation Does
Your generosity helps us:
Get young people into rugby and sport through club partnerships across South London
Remove barriers to education by supporting access to uniforms, equipment and learning resources
Provide mentoring from people who understand the challenges these young people face - because many of our team have been there themselves.
Help Us Cross the Finish Line
Please donate whatever you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, goes directly towards supporting young people who need it most. And please share this page - it really does make a difference.
Thank you for your support.
