Sports Focus is excited to share that on the 12th October 2025 Coach Ollie, Coach Dom and Coach Charlie will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise vital funds for the amazing children's literacy charity; Learn to Love to Read

We're a team of sports teachers from Sports Focus, and while we usually spend our days on pitches and courts, right now we're swapping balls for running shoes—all to support a cause close to our hearts: Learn to Love to Read.

As educators, we see every day how confidence in sport can unlock a child’s potential. But we also know that literacy is just as powerful. That’s why we’re lacing up together—for every child who’s ever struggled with reading, for every classroom that needs a bit more support, and for every family that dreams of seeing their child fall in love with books.

Learn to Love to Read is doing incredible work helping children in our community develop essential literacy skills. Their tailored programmes, dedicated volunteers, and creative approaches are transforming lives—and we’re proud to support them with every mile we run.

We know this challenge will test us, but it’s nothing compared to what some children face when reading feels out of reach. So we’re running with determination, joy, and a lot of team spirit.
