Story
As a rescuer of many years I have never been so affected by an experience!
The team were contacted by a puppy farm owner asking us to take dogs who were no longer financially viable to him! 😡
As soon as the call was received our emotions went into overdrive - the whole team were nervous but we all knew we had to stay strong so we could at least help as many as the puppy farmer would give us.
When we arrived it was the smell that hit you first - hearts thumping we all entered the building 😢.
We were all completely stunned, shocked and heartbroken at the deplorable conditions - rows and rows of cages filled with dogs who probably never leave their confinement 😡.
We all felt completely helpless and witnessing such cruelty on an industrial scale was just too much to bare.
For us the tears came without warning. We were all trying to stay so strong as we did not want to puppy farmer to see our pain - but it was impossible.
As dogs were being man handled out of their prisons and just thrown at us we scooped them up in our arms - holding them as tight as we could - whispering “you are safe” to each little one desperately clinging to us as if to say “don’t let me go”. We held on to them like our lives depended on it.
When we left the building we had 10 dogs - a mixture of labs, cockers and little ones.
As we were walking out of hell we all felt a relief for the lucky ones who were coming with us, but absolute heartbreak at the innocent victims left behind - we will never forget what we witnessed 😢
Lisa will be constantly monitoring the situation to be ready to collect more victims when we are asked.
Never has the moto “ADOPT DONT SHOP” meant so much.
If you would like to help these little ones transition into their new lives, we have set up a Just Giving fund to support the ones we were able to save. They are going to need a lot of rehabilitation and care.
We would be so grateful.
Thank you all so much for your kind support without you we would not be able to save as many as we do ❤️.
