Story
This is my third time fundraising for Elgon Empowerment — and honestly, I wouldn’t be doing it again if it didn’t make a real, lasting impact.
Run by Jake — the heart and head behind the charity — Elgon Empowerment is doing incredible work. Since 2022, he’s built something special: a UK-based initiative that’s helped over 700 women and girls in rural Uganda through hands-on workshops, reproductive health education, and thousands of reusable sanitary products. It’s not just aid — it’s empowerment. And that’s what keeps me coming back.
This time, I’m joining a team of amazing people to hike up Snowdon — one of the tallest peaks in the UK — to raise funds and awareness for the cause. It’s tough, but nowhere near as tough as the daily reality for so many girls in Uganda who are forced to miss school simply because they don’t have access to basic hygiene products.
In 2025, the charity’s pushing things even further: providing sewing machines, materials, and proper training so women can make and distribute sanitary products themselves. That means dignity, education, income, and independence — all powered by community and backed by us.
If you’ve supported me before — thank you. You’ve already helped change lives. If you’re new here — welcome, and get involved. Whether you donate, share, or spread the word, you’re part of something bigger than a charity. You’re part of a movement that believes no girl should have to choose between her health and her future.
Let’s do this — for the third time, for something real, for Elgon.
