Story
This year, I am taking on the Great North Run to raise much-needed funds for the incredible charity, Butterwick Hospice.
I am running in memory of my beautiful friend, Shannon.
Shannon faced a short but incredibly brave battle with cancer. During that difficult time, the amazing staff at Butterwick Hospice cared for both Shannon and her family with kindness, compassion, and dignity. Their support meant so much, and I will always be grateful for the care they provided.
Shannon was one of the bravest people I have ever known. She is deeply missed every single day. We miss her infectious laugh, her dark sense of humour, and the light she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Life simply isn’t the same without her.
Shannon absolutely idolised her older brother, Paul, who is also running the Great North Run this year. I know she would be incredibly proud of him.
Every mile I run will be for Shannon and in support of the hospice that helped her and her loved ones when they needed it most. Any donation, no matter how big or small, would be hugely appreciated and will help Butterwick Hospice continue providing outstanding care to families facing the most difficult of times.
Thank you for your support. ❤️
