Story
As many of you will know - in January 2016 my big brother Rob passed away unexpectedly in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition, aged 27. He was seemingly extremely fit and healthy, and yet went to bed one night but never woke up.
Now if that wasn't bad enough, in one last laugh from my annoying big bro from beyond the grave - his sad loss means my oversized, long-limbed, lanky *and* gangly frame now has to drag itself around 42km of pain.
Why you ask? To raise money and awareness so that a similar loss doesn't happen to anyone else and their loved ones - or the resulting suffer-fest taken on by an equally unfit younger brother.
You see that's the thing - his loss is completely avoidable with basic screening of young people.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.

I'll be also running in memory of 8 friends, and friend of friends and their families taken equally tragically and too young to similar undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
