Supporting people with learning disabilities to transform their lives with Small Sparks grants

Duncan Bell is raising money for Dimensions (UK) Ltd

Running the Welsh 3000ers

Our 'Small Sparks' fund will help people change their life through work, friendships, hobbies or improved independence. The more we get, the more we can give. Every penny will be given back in Small Sparks grants. Nothing will go on admin.

Story

I'm fundraising for Dimensions' "Small Sparks" fund by trying to run the Welsh 3000 foot peaks in under 24h.

There's 15 of these monsters, giving a total running distance of 35 miles and total ascent of over 12,000 foot, some of it on narrow ridges. In the last couple of years I've managed two half marathons on the road so this will be a big step up.

Why?

People with learning disabilities and autistic people supported by Dimensions (including Discovery) might apply for a Small Sparks grant to help find work, create friendship groups, develop hobbies or improve independence.

The more we raise, the more we can give out – and Dimensions promises that every penny raised will be given back in Small Sparks grants. Nothing will go on administration.

Mark successfully applied for a Small Sparks grant to buy a laptop to help him expand his advocacy and speaking work.

Jordan used his to buy tools to help him become a mechanic.

Denise used hers to buy a new bike to help her become more independent.

And Phil used his to make an important film about equal rights and paid employment.

If you could help transform other people's live, please give now. Thank you.
