Happy Birthday to us!
In 2026, Dimensions celebrates 50 years of not-for-profit support for people with learning disabilities… and we’re doing something special to celebrate this milestone:
Introducing Small Sparks Grants
We want to find new ways to support autistic people and people with learning disabilities to be ambitious in their lives.
That’s why for our 50th birthday we aim to give out 50 “Small Sparks” grants to people we support and tenants.
People might apply for a Small Sparks grant to help find work, create friendship groups, develop hobbies or improve independence.
Small Sparks Grants really work:
Mark successfully applied for one to buy a laptop to help him expand his advocacy and speaking work. Jordan used his to buy tools to help him become a mechanic. Denise used hers to buy a new bike to help her become more independent. And Phil used his to make an important film about equal rights and paid employment.
There’s no fixed minimum or maximum value but we expect most grants to be in the region of £500 - £1500 in one of the following categories:
- Supporting me with the skills and equipment to work
- Tackling loneliness through new friendships and hobbies
- Improving my home environment
- Improving my health and independence
- Other projects that align with Dimensions' values of ambition, courage, integrity, respect and partnership.
