This is Oscar with my dad, Colin, at a family get-together.

My dad died in April 2021. he had complications following a dissected aorta.

I did the 2023 London to Brighton in his memory.

Just one week later, Oscar died.

We are still heartbroken.

He died at school.

Kidmore End is a local village school with a huge heart. All our children have attended in a long association with the school, stretching back to 1998.

The school association were amazing in the days following Oscar's death. They stepped in with funds for enrichment activities for pupils. Together the staff and pupils worked on a mural for Oscar.

Staff at the school were amazing in delivering first aid to Oscar, and in supporting us as grieving parents.

The school have provided a wooden engraved 'buddy bench' in Oscar's memory.

They have also supplied two Silver Birch trees, one for the school and one for us.

Our daughter is now in year six, and so our association with Kidmore End School is drawing to a close.

Riding the London to Brighton this year will be very poignant.

Doing this not just for Dad, but for Oscar, too.

And for me. I had my right hip replaced in August 2024, and it won't be long before the other one needs doing as well!

So, one last epic adventure. 54 miles for charity.
