This is me, Duncan Roome, my dad, Colin, and our son Oscar in 2017.

Sadly, dad died 30th April 2021. Aged 82.

Even sadder, Oscar died 24th June 2023. Aged 10.

I did the L2B in 2023 in memory of dad. Just a week later, I was grieving the loss of Oscar.

KESA represents Oscar's school. Raising extra money for enrichment days, extra equipment, computers, etc.

After Oscar died, the school family was incredible. Such an outpouring of love and care, both for us, and for the whole school community. KESA has provided equipment so that the children could create a beautiful wall mural to remember Oscar by. A buddy bench in his memory. A silver birch tree in his memory, one for the school and one for us.

I've been selected to do the L2B again this year, and to dedicate it to my dad and my son. To the BHF and KESA.

This ride will be a bit different. in August 2024, I had a total hip replacement. In 2023, my son and I managed the ride in 3 hours 55 minutes. As part of the challenge of recovery, I'd like to aim to do it the same, or better time.
