Story
I have fallen in love with swimming! In the pool, in the sea, across a lake or down a river, I’m happy when I’m in the water. Dad first took me to the pool when I was about five years old and I haven’t stopped since!
But not everyone is as lucky. For kids with disabilities, getting in the water can involve a series of hurdles and many never experience the joy that swimming can bring.
In 2026, weather permitting, I will be kicking my way down three rivers, taking part in three long-distance swims - the Dart 10k and Bantham Boomerang in July (South Devon) and the Hurly Burly (North Wales) in September. Each event is approximately 8-10km in length and it will take me a good few months of training to be able to finish them all.
Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities, by working in partnership with pools and swim schools around the country to train teachers and help with funding to offer high-quality one-to-one lessons to children with disabilities.
Because everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water, just like I did!
Please support me if you can…every pound helps to share the power of swimming!
