Story
On Sunday 20th September, three generations of our family will be lacing up our trainers and taking on the Cheltenham 10km together — including my partner, daughter, and father-in-law, Dave — all to raise money for the incredible work of Sue Ryder.
Anyone who knows me will know that running does not come naturally to me, so this will definitely be a challenge! Many people may be wondering what on earth has persuaded me to dust off my trainers, but this feels like a challenge worth taking on for a cause that means so much to all of us.
The real inspiration behind this is Dave. At 82 years old, he has decided to take up running and enter the race himself — an amazing achievement that we are all so proud of. For years, Dave has volunteered with Sue Ryder, usually helping from the sidelines at events, but this time he’s swapping the water station for running shoes and joining us on the course.
We’re looking forward to sharing this experience together as a family and raising as much as we can along the way. Any support, donations, or words of encouragement would mean a huge amount to us all. Thank you!
