Story
I am honoured to be part of the Fundraising Team at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Cheltenham as one of their volunteers.
Funding the running of the Hospice has become extremely difficult in these challenging times we live in, central funding has decreased while the running costs have increased. We need £16,000 per day to keep the doors open for our Community..
So I have decided to take on a challenge and hopefully with the support of my benefactors will go some way in supporting the Hospice in these difficult times.
So what’s the challenge you may ask, well I have signed up to run the Cheltenham 10km on the 20th September 2026
I will be oldest runner taking part 🤪
I will be 82 when I run the event being born in 1944 just as the 2nd World War was drawing to it’s conclusion!😂
I won’t be running alone, I will have the full support of my extended family. Running with me will be my daughter’s their respective husbands and my grandchildren.
The run will be physically and mentally challenging but I’m ready to take it on to support a cause that is so important to me.
If you can support my challenge in giving a donation that would be greatly appreciated by myself and the nursing staff looking after our patients in palliative care.
Many thanks for reading my story and your possible support.
Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with Sue Ryder's support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. They are there when it matters.
