43% of children in Hackney live in poverty. Families are mainly sole parents and many have fled domestic violence or trafficking, or face unemployment and mental health issues. Last year nearly 30% of our families had no recourse to public funds putting them in the most financially deprived of groups.

The Hackney Children and Baby Bank We support families in need living in/around Hackney with essential baby equipment - buggies, cots, highchairs - clothing, toys and toiletries from donated items & financial contributions.

It's grown from emergency community pop-up in the pandemic to charity with premises, two part-time staff and band of volunteers. In 2025 we provided around 2,500 clothes packs and the same number of toy packs, along with hundreds of buggies, cots and other items of baby equipment. We offer a friendly, inclusive service, closely working with local agencies; this support can be a life line to families. Please support us today.
