Story

Eliana has grown up with spasticity, a condition that affects approximately 80% of children with Cerebral Palsy and is considered one of the most disabling conditions within the pediatric population. Spasticity causes muscle tightness, stiffness, and rigidity in muscles and movement. Cryoneurolysis, a novel minimally invasive procedure, transformed Eliana's confidence, self-esteem, and the way she navigates everyday life.

She used to fall multiple times each day, but with improved balance, she no longer requires the support of an educational assistant and feels more "like her peers". With her newfound confidence, she competed in the school track meet, placing 3rd and advancing to the city finals, where she placed 2nd. She also had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Parliament Buildings on Canada Day 2025 and is now training to become a lifeguard!

With her improved range of motion, Eliana can now wear ski boots and hit the slopes with her family. Her increased stamina has also opened new doors, she enjoyed a family trip to Europe to explore her heritage and now treasures daily walks around the neighborhood with her best friend, her puppy Leo.

Help us grow our impact!

We are currently fundraising to support cryoneurolysis research through the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at the Victoria General Hospital.
