Story
On Friday 3 July, we’ll be taking on the Big Walk in support of lung disease research at the University of Sheffield - and this time taking on the even bigger 30 mile challenge!
For a baby born before 32 weeks, breathing is a battle. A third of these infants are at risk of developing lung disease. Because standard scans use radiation that is too dangerous for these babies, doctors are forced to treat them without seeing the full picture.
As parents of two premature babies ourselves, one born at 26 weeks who came home on oxygen after 3 months in hospital, we understand the concern and worry that these parents go through and how important this research is to give parents reassurance.
This research will help to move safe lung scanning technology from the lab into the hands of doctors who are caring for children with lung conditions.
You’ll help to improve imaging technology for children who desperately need it. For a child suffering with cystic fibrosis or asthma, you are providing the technology that will shape a healthier future.
Thank you for making a gift to help us reach out fundraising goal!
