The MPS Society provides specialist support to children, adults and families in the UK who are affected by MPS, Fabry and related lysosomal storage diseases and we fund research into treatment and therapies. These diseases are rare, genetic, life-limiting conditions with no cure.

Story

In October I’m running the Manchester half marathon ,raising money for the MPS society, in memory of my brother. Isaac was born with MPS 1 and had both severe physical and learning disabilities. This meant his childhood consisted of long periods in hospital and Isaac undergoing two bone marrow transplants and over thirty operations. Despite all the issues he faced Isaac loved life and loved people, he was an absolute charmer. We truly had the most special, funny sibling relationship. We all miss him so so much.

The MPS society provided support to him and us as a family for 23 years. They continue to do invaluable work supporting families and researching into the genetic disease, finding cures and medical breakthroughs. Any donations to would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much xxx
