Story
I’m taking part in Trek26 Stonehenge to support Alzheimer’s Society, which is a cause close to my heart.
My first experience of Alzheimer’s was with my grandad, who passed away from it in 1993. I remember seeing him gradually lose his memories and forget who people were. Sadly, other members of my family have also since been affected. Like many families, ours has felt the impact of these conditions across generations.
Today I work in the office of a care home specialising in dementia care, where I see every week both the challenges of dementia and the incredible compassion shown by those caring for people living with it.
I’m walking 13 miles to help raise funds for vital support and research, and to play a small part in moving us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
If you’re able to donate, I’d be hugely grateful for your support. Every step and every contribution really does make a difference.
Thank you 🙂
