Story
Karen & Liz are taking part in Trek26 Stonehenge to support Alzheimer’s Society — a cause that means a great deal to both of us.
Between us, we have seen the impact of dementia from many different perspectives. One of us has experienced Alzheimer’s within our own family across generations, including the recent loss of a loved one. The other has spent more than 40 years working in care, supporting people living with dementia and seeing first-hand how these conditions gradually affect memory, independence and personality.
Through our work in dementia care, we witness every day both the challenges faced by those living with dementia and the compassion, patience and dedication shown by carers and families.
That’s why we’ve committed to walking 13 miles at Trek26 Stonehenge — to help raise funds for vital support services and research, and to play a small part in moving us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, we would be incredibly grateful for your support. Every step we take is for the people and families affected by dementia.
Thank you 🙂
