Lincolnshire Churches Ride and Stride 2026

Elizabeth Loring is raising money for Lincolnshire Churches Trust

Lincolnshire Churches Ride and Stride · 12 September 2026 ·

This year’s Ride and Stride event will take place on Saturday 12th September 2026. This is the day that churches throw open their doors for people to visit – either walking, cycling, or by any other inventive means.

Story

I am taking part in the 2026 Lincolnshire Churches Trust Ride and Stride fundraising event to raise money for St Thomas of Canterbury Church in Burton le Coggles.

I will be walking between the following churches: Burton le Coggles, Bassingthorpe, Bitchfield, Irnham, Corby Glen, Swayfield and back to Burton le Coggles. Will you join me for part or all of the walk. If that's not possible, would you consider sponsoring me? I'm looking forward to a peaceful and rewarding day supporting Lincolnshire’s churches, taking in our beautiful countryside and fresh air.

Lincolnshire’s churches are an architectural treasure and I want them to be kept open for everyone to enjoy. However, their upkeep is expensive and mainly relies on volunteers in the local parishes and fundraising by local people. Did you know that parish churches receive no direct funding from the Church of England or the Government?

Thank you for reading my story!
