We support individuals, families, and groups with complex health and social care needs, often due to disability, dementia, autism or mental ill health. The support we and our dogs provide enables them to better access the world around them.

Story

As some of you are probably aware, my Assistance Dog from Dogs for Good (Demi) retired on 25 May 2024. Demi was my third Assistance Dog from this awesome Charity following her two predecessors - Frodo and Bella. Due to my own deteriorating physical health, I've made the incredibly hard decision not to apply for a successor. So, Demi will be my last. She's gone to live with my sister, which is great. Demi is absolutely living her best life in her retirement with Becky, Mike, Thomas, Merry, Apollo and Rose (two cats and a guinea pig)!

I want to raise a little bit of money for Dogs for Good as a 'thank you' for all they, and my three dogs, have given me. I'm no longer able to do the daft physical challenges I've done in the past (50 sit-ups a day for 50 days, pushing 21 miles in my manual wheelchair)! I've previously given chocolate and crisps up for a month. I could give up coffee, but....nah (she says while sipping a latte)! Cheese?! No - that would be an insult to my french ancestors! So, I'm just going to post some photos and stories on my instagram (@wheeliewitty), and hopefully raise some cash!

Dogs for Good believes in the power of dogs.

Since 1988, Dogs for Good has been making life-changing differences for people with disabilities. The charity supports people with complex needs including physical disabilities, autism, dementia and learning disabilities enabling them to lead more independent lives through the help of trained dogs.

They receive over 5,000 enquiries a year and it costs more than £22,000 to train and support each assistance dog. With your sponsorship, they can create more life-changing partnerships. Thank you.
