The Great North Run is the world's largest half marathon with an incredible atmosphere, starting in Newcastle upon Tyne and finishing by the sea in South Shields. It's an amazing event for all, whether you're after a personal best or new to running!

Story

Im taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK. Theyre the UK's leading bowel cancer charity and are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with over 16,000 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable. Im determined to help Bowel Cancer UK to change that. The money you donate will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, enable them to fund and support research into bowel cancer and to campaign for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

It’s just over a year since losing Andy to bowel cancer . Andy was a man who had the upmost zest for life , never saw problems only solutions and a man I will never forget . To honour Andy’s memory I shall be running the Great North Run in support of Bowel Cancer UK . It would be amazing if you could help support myself and Andy’s memory in raising funds for Bowel cancer UK in any way , small or large . All raised will be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance
