Rachel Weiss is raising money for Menopause Cafe

Team: Menopause on the Move

Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 - 10K · 23 May 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We want the whole world talking about the menopause. At a Menopause Café people gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss menopause. Open to all, in an accessible and confidential space. With no intention of leading people to any conclusion or course of action, and on a not for profit basis.

Story

"With some trepidation, I have signed up to run 10K in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on May 23rd. Ive never run that far before. The furthest I've ever run is 6K and I haven't run at all for a month.

We are raising money for Menopause Cafe charity, to reduce the ignorance and shame which, sadly, still surround menopause. The charity supports pop-up menopause discussion groups worldwide: in workplace and in the community, hosted for free, online or in person.

We are also showing that

* menopausal women can learn new tricks

* men can be great supporters and allies

Support me as I push myself to run 10K at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on May 23rd. You can follow my journey by reading www.menopausecafe.net/menopause-cafe-blog/

It currently feels impossible, but so does the menopause at times. We can get through it with hope, perseverance and a little help from our friends.

It costs £20K a year, to keep Menopause Cafe charity running(pun intended). I hope to raise at least £6K, will you help me?
