The Recruitment Junction places people with convictions into sustainable paid jobs across the north east of England. We see people with convictions rediscover a sense of purpose through work where they can add real value, becoming role models driving positive generation impact across their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am trying to raise money for The Recruitment Junction by zip wiring off the Tyne Bridge on August the 18th. After working at The Recruitment Junction since graduating from University over a year ago with a Criminology degree with a passion for restorative justice, I have been able to help the local men and women in changing their lives around and doing good in our region.

The Recruitment Junction is an award-winning recruitment charity, that places people with convictions into sustainable paid work. Whether it is meeting people in prison, supporting them upon release, or helping those with community sentences or historic offences back into work.

Every person whom we get into work (412 and counting!) is the equivalent of £58,000 per year in Social Value added to our local economy, and each person who doesn't re-offend saves the taxpayer a further £45,000 per person - with our reoffending rates being less than 2% vs. the national average of 25%.

 Not only is our work pivotal in helping individuals desist from crime, breaking the cycle of children following their parents down the wrong path, but it also reduces victims of crime, making our region a safer community for all. The Recruitment Junction is the only recruitment charity in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear that helps place men and women with past convictions into permanent, meaningful employment.

We see people rediscover a sense of purpose through finding fulfilling work where they can add real value, becoming role models who drive positive generational impact across their families.

We deliver on skills shortages across the north east, we push back on regional unemployment and we contribute to a national reduction in reoffending.

In the 2.5 years since we launched, we have placed 405 people into work, with 72% job retention at 6 months and fewer than 2% reoffending.

It costs us on average £1,500 to place one person into work, this includes our own core costs plus a huge chunk from our hardship fund.

Your donation would help towards:

* £5 travel to a candidates interview

*£11 birth certificate for right-to-work document

*£17 travel for the first week to work of the new job

* £25 basic smartphone

*£35 interview clothing

*£80 emergency housing

We would not be able to continue the good work we do if it wasn't for the generosity of donations.
