We're just £1,007 away from naming a future guide dog puppy. Could you help us take the final steps towards our goal?

On 26 September, my dad Mark and I successfully completed our tandem skydive in support of Guide Dogs.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, colleagues and supporters, we've raised £1,493 towards our £2,500 target. Every donation has helped us get closer to naming a future guide dog puppy, but we still need your help to reach the finish line.

The skydive was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. To make the challenge even more meaningful, I wore a blindfold throughout the journey to the aircraft and the climb to 12,000 feet, relying on the guidance of my dad and the instructors around me.

Sitting in the aircraft, unable to see what was happening around me, gave me a small glimpse into the trust and confidence that many people with sight loss place in others and their dogs every day. Of course, I can never truly understand that experience, but it reinforced for me why the work of Guide Dogs is so important.

The moment the blindfold came off and I saw the view from 12,000 feet was incredible. A few moments later, my dad and I were out of the aircraft and freefalling towards the ground. It was exhilarating, frightening and exciting all at the same time, and a challenge I'll never forget.

As a volunteer and Deputy Group Coordinator for the Guide Dogs Southampton Fundraising Group, I've seen first-hand the life-changing impact Guide Dogs has on people living with sight loss. The confidence, independence and freedom that guide dogs bring to their owners is truly inspiring.

That's why reaching this £2,500 target means so much. Not only will it support the amazing work of Guide Dogs, but we'll also have the opportunity to give a future guide dog puppy its very first name, before it begins its journey to changing someone's life.
