Story
On 31 October 2026, I'll be setting off on my Indian Himalayas Trek in aid of Hospiscare.
From Five-Star to Floor Sleeping… All for Hospice Care!
Let’s be honest — if you know me, you’ll be shocked (and probably laughing) to hear this:
I’m trekking the Himalayas.
Yes, me — the five-star-loving, bath-soaking, hair-straightener-dependent princess — will be roughing it. That means:
• Sleeping on the floor
• Pooing in a hole (yes, really)
• Possibly going unwashed for days
So if you’ve ever wanted to see me truly out of my element… now’s your moment.
But here’s the serious part: I’m doing this for hospice care — a cause that means so much to so many. Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or someone you know, hospices provide compassion, dignity, and support when it matters most.
So while I’m battling blisters, altitude, and no access to a proper bath, I’d love it if you could support me. Every donation, big or small, goes to help people when they need it most — and gives you the added joy of imagining me trying to survive without a single luxury in sight.
Please give what you can, and thank you so much for your support
The route follows an ancient trail from the home of the Dalai Lama, passing panoramic mountain landscapes along the Karei Stream, through alpine meadows. I’ll then take the overnight sleeper train before visiting one of the wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal. I’m looking forward to experiencing the rich culture and traditions of the region – and especially to spending two days volunteering with a local community project in Delhi!
Hospiscare are a local charity, caring for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. The trek I’m taking on will be a real challenge; I'll be trekking for up to 8 hours a day! But it's nothing compared to the challenge of a terminal diagnosis that so many face each year. If I can help make things a little easier for those facing one of life’s most difficult journeys, that’s what I’m going to do!
