Hospiscare provides free and specialised nursing to the terminally ill in Exeter, Mid and East Devon. It looks after more than 700 patients at any one time, supporting patients in their own homes and in its hospice. It relies on the generosity of the community to provide this vital service.

Story

After the incredible success of our 2022 and 2024 treks to Nepal and Peru—raising nearly £200,000 for Hospiscare—we’re thrilled to unveil our next overseas adventure for 2026…. The Indian Himalayas Trek!

Our intrepid trekkers will follow a magnificent ancient trail from the home of the Dalai Lama, passing panoramic mountain landscapes and following the Kareri Stream through beautiful alpine meadows, before taking an iconic rail journey on an overnight sleeper train to reach the awe-inspiring Taj Mahal. Along the way, our Hospiscare Heroes will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a vibrant culture, experiencing the rich traditions, flavours, and cuisine of the region. As well as stepping up to raise vital funds for Hospiscare, they’ll also spend two days volunteering with a local project in Delhi, making a meaningful contribution to the community.

Although Hospiscare can’t change a terminal diagnosis, we want to be there, ensuring that those with life-limiting illness receive compassionate, expert end-of-life care at no cost to them or their family. We want to be there for the friends and family of our patients, providing the comfort, support and advice they need.

But as a local charity, we rely on donations to fund our services – and we need our community to rally round so that local people aren’t forced to face one of life’s most difficult journeys alone.

So please, show your support and make a donation today. Together, we can make a difference!
