Story
I'm doing the Great Winter Challenge to raise money for Crohn's and Colitis. Starting on 1st January, I'll be doing 30 minutes of exercise every day for the month.
My son Lewis was diagnosed with Crohn's 2 years ago. He lost a lot of weight and became very ill. It took time and patience to find the right medication and numerous hospital visits. Thankfully now he is doing well and the symptoms are currently under control.
Crohn's is an unpredictable disease and how it effects people differs from person to person. A flare up of the symptoms can happen at any time. This includes not being able to keep food down, fatigue, pain and losing blood. Raising awareness of this disease and doing a little fundraising to help the charity is a way of helping all those which suffer with this lifelong illness.
Thank you for any donations made.
We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis.
Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. And the real number could be almost double that.
Because of the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these diseases, thousands of people are suffering in silence.
But they’re not alone.
We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.
