For those of you who don’t know my dad (Kevin Wayne Bick), had a heart condition known as obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. On the 28th of April 2025, he passed away from his condition surrounded by his family.

My dad was the best man I’ve ever known and I miss him so much. My dad was a quiet man who loved to draw, play darts and was an avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club. He never asked for anything, and only ever wanted to be with his family. He had the most bizarre sense of humour, and would come out with the wittiest of remarks.

During my dad’s final weeks in hospital, his bravery and courage inspired me, and I know if he were here now he’d tell me I was crazy, but I also know he would have l believed in me and supported me all the way.

This marathon is for you Dad.
