I'm jumping for Black Country Women’s Aid on the 21st June!!

Having spent some time in one of the BCWA refuges 25 years ago, I always knew I would do something to support victims of domestic violence.

Being taken somewhere like this at 21, in the middle of the night with a young baby, and being given toiletries to have a shower and baby things when you haven't been able to bring them with you is something that I don't think you ever forget.

In 2019, I met Katie on a field in Coseley at a 6am bootcamp!! When we should have been doing burpees, we were talking!😉 She was my kind of person! Then covid hit and we lost touch, except Facebook - And then a couple of years ago, I bumped into her at a Networking Event where she was with Sara Ward, the CEO of Black Country Women's Aid and since then we've become very good friends.

Katie works tirelessly for the charity and if you spend even a few minutes with her, you can see the passion she has in her fundraising. Her energy is contagious and makes you want to join in! I've always given the Christmas tags and Easter eggs but this is on another level...literally!🪂

So on the 21st June, I am joining Katie and jumping 14,000 feet out of an airplane! I mean, I've done some things but this is probably one of the most ridiculous! 🤣

When I heard about the "Key to a New Life" Campaign, it really hit the reality of it, that's what it actually is, when you finally live in a safe place, a new life! So I'm asking you to help me raise at least £500 to support the fitting out of 10 new refuge flats!

⭐I'm hosting a Children and Baby Toy Market at Wombourne Leisure Centre on Sunday 1st June where all of the proceeds will go to this fund! So many of my followers and friends have donated some lovely quality, nearly new toys which I will be selling at low prices on the day. BCWA "Key to a New Life"

Imagine never having a key to your own front door.

Never having a place where you feel safe, warm, and protected.

Never knowing the comfort of a space where no one can hurt you.

This is the reality for too many people fleeing domestic abuse.

In 2024, Black Country Women’s Aid had to turn away over two-thirds of those seeking refuge—not because they didn’t need help, but because there simply weren’t enough spaces.

BCWA is now building 10 new refuge flats—safe homes for women and children escaping violence. This campaign will help refit and furnish those flats, turning them from empty spaces into havens of safety, stability, and care.

Every donation brings us closer to opening more doors, offering more support, and handing over the key to a new life.
