The Key to a New Life

Imagine never having a key to a safe space you can call your own. Never having a place where you feel secure, warm and protected. Never having somewhere where you are sure that no-one will hurt you.

In 2024 BCWA had to turn away over two thirds of people who applied for refuge because of a lack of spaces. This reflects a national shortage of safe house provision.

Help us to:

• Fit out 10 new refuge flats

Pledge your support by:

• Sponsoring the fit out of an entire refuge flat

• Donating flooring, paint, hardware etc. to make each flat warm and welcoming

• Collecting new and unused items like kettles, cutlery, crockery, towels

• Fundraising to help us buy home essentials like new washing machines, cookers, fridges and beds

• Volunteering to clean and decorate new refuge space ready for families to move in

• Donating high-end prizes or unique experiences for BCWA raffles in aid of the new refuge build
