Subject: Reviving Sports, Reviving Hope – Appeal for Support
Dear Friends,
In my community of Agona Kwanyako, in the Central Region of Ghana, we were once blessed with a dedicated table tennis coach who devoted his life to training young people between the ages of 6 and 20 in the sport of table tennis (Ping Pong). Through his tireless efforts, many of our youth not only discovered their talents but also earned scholarships to further their education. Later, he introduced volleyball, which became another beacon of opportunity.
These sports did more than entertain—they transformed lives. They gave our youth a path away from crime, drugs, and violence, and opened doors into the police, army, immigration service, and other professions. Many became breadwinners for their families, role models for their peers, and pillars of our community.
Sadly, our beloved coach passed away twenty years ago, and with him, the vibrant sports culture he built has begun to fade. Without intervention, the ripple effects could see our youth drift back toward destructive paths.
I believe it is time to revive this legacy—not just for Agona Kwanyako, but for the entire Central Region. My vision is to secure sports materials and equipment, distribute them to every basic and secondary school in the community, and organize competitions that will rekindle the spirit of discipline, teamwork, and hope.
This is more than sports—it is about giving our youth a chance to dream, to achieve, and to transform their futures.
I humbly appeal for your support in raising funds for this worthy cause. Together, we can restore what was lost and create new opportunities for generations to come.
Your kindness and generosity will not only revive table tennis and volleyball, but also revive hope.
With gratitude,
Eric John Amosah-Wobson
