Pancreatic Cancer Action is the only UK charity dedicated to saving lives through early diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer is the 5th biggest cancer killer and the 10th most common cancer in the UK. Your support means we can continue to raise awareness of the symptoms to ensure early diagnosis.

Story

Together with my Mum and sister Jen, I'm taking on the Aberdeen Kiltwalk on the 1st of June - walking 18 miles from Banchory to Aberdeen in memory of our wonderful Dad and Grumpy who was heartbreakingly lost to pancreatic cancer last year.

At the point of diagnosis, it was too late for any life-prolonging treatment and Dad survived only 9 weeks. His devastating loss has left a massive hole in our lives and he is enormously missed by so so many family and friends.

It is completely shocking to discover that this traumatic story is not uncommon. Pancreatic Cancer is extremely aggressive and extremely cruel. In the UK around 10,500 people are diagnosed every year - 25% die within a month, 50% die within 3 months, and 75% die within one year. This makes pancreatic cancer 8 times more deadly than other common cancers. These statistics have to change and the most effective way is through early diagnosis and faster treatment. This will only be achieved through supporting funding and research.

Please support us in raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action, the UK charity dedicated to saving lives through early diagnosis.
